Maricopa County residents now have 15 more trained and certified immediate responders among our ranks! On Wednesday, February 19th, these dedicated Consumer Direct Care Network employees completed the necessary educational requirements to obtain American College of Surgeon’s Bleeding Control Certification. Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they can provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders can take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths may occur. Although no single set of skills or response can fit all injury, trauma, or active violence situations, making sure everyone knows his or her options and can react decisively will save valuable time and lives. On Thursday, February 13th and Saturday, February 15th, ICSAVE was honored to participate in this year’s Bullhead City Winter Expo & Mohave High Student Council Auto Shows respectively. Hosted by Anderson Fieldhouse, there were over 5,000 Tri-State area residents in attendance. One of the many purposes of the event was to make community members aware of all the amazing resources available to them. We want to extend a special thank you to Bullhead City leadership and the amazing staff at Anderson Fieldhouse who are making these vitally important educational events possible.
