Resisting Evil Community Workshops Building Bridges

The initial publication of Resisting Evil Community Workshops Building Bridges was done on: ICSAVE.org

On Friday, February 23rd, ICSAVE was honored to attend and present at Desert Son Community Church. The Marana hosted community workshop was developed by Landmark Protection and titled “Resisting Evil”. The workshop was held in order to bring congregations and public safety professionals together so that churches learn ways they can secure their ministries to operate in peace without fear of violence. It was the first step in proper church security and included handouts for each person to start a conversation in their own churches or to improve what they might already be doing. Additionally, it pointed the audience in the right direction when discussing ideas like creating a team with principles to do it properly. Landmark invited public safety professionals to participate as well as other existing church teams so they could work together as a community to coordinate and network knowledge and resources. Those in attendance unanimously supported the practice of community resilience, partnerships with public safety organizations and proactive preparedness. Thank you for inviting us and, more importantly, thank you for your service! [embed]https://youtu.be/jOIzNYOk9Xo[/embed]

Prescott Public Safety Integration Training

The first publication of Prescott Public Safety Integration Training was done on: www.ICSAVE.org

Active violence events have resulted in numerous civilian casualties and captured the attention of the nation. These horrific and calculated acts have dramatically impacted countless individuals and communities by instilling fear that such events can unpredictably occur in urban, suburban, rural and metropolitan areas. Despite evolving threats, many public safety organizations throughout the country have yet to develop response paradigms to meet these challenges. Instructed by members of the Law Enforcement / Fire / EMS Communities, this highly interactive, 2-day mobile training team course (MTT) will deconstruct the nature of these threats as well as offer awareness-level integrated point-of-wound care instruction specifically focused on dynamic active violence, all-hazards and/or explosive threats. This course is specifically targeted for law enforcement and fire / EMS organizations who want to proactively develop integrated response strategies to mitigate the impact a violent mass casualty incident can have on their community. This workshop is recognized by both the Arizona Center for Fire Service Excellence (AzCFSE) and Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training (AZPOST) Committees.

Pima Community College Students Ready to Save a Life!

The first publication of Pima Community College Students Ready to Save a Life! was done on: icsave.org

Pima County residents now have 16 more trained and certified immediate responders among their ranks! On Monday, February 19th, these exceptional young men and women from Pima Community College’s Surgical Technician Program, completed the necessary educational requirements to obtain American College of Surgeon’s Bleeding Control Certification. Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they can provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders can take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths may occur. Although no single set of skills or response can fit all injury, trauma, or active violence situations, making sure everyone knows his or her options and can react decisively will save valuable time and lives. As members of our extended community family, these young professionals now have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to help save a life!

How You Can Help The Parkland Florida Shooting Victims And Their Families

You can look at the initial release of this post How You Can Help The Parkland Florida Shooting Victims And Their Families on this website: http://www.icsave.org

Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with the Floridian victims and their loved ones. In the deadliest high school mass shooting in modern American history, a heavily armed young man opened fire on terrified students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., on Wednesday, leaving a death toll of 17. Those who want to help the victims and families affected by Wednesday’s tragedy don't have to physically be in Florida to assist. The Broward Education Foundation created a GoFundMe page in an effort to raise money to financially help the victims and their families. The campaign is hoping to reach its goal of $600,000. OneBlood has asked people with O-negative blood, regardless of location, to take the time to donate to help with the blood supply. For more information on OneBlood and where to donate, visit oneblood.org.
