On Saturday, January 11th, ICSAVE was honored to participate in this year’s Community Resource Fair. Hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there were numerous Tucson and Pima County area government, non-profit, private and education-based organizations in attendance. The event was well attended, and its purpose was to make area residents aware of all the amazing resources available to them. We want to extend a special thank you to the generous men and women of the church who are making these vitally important educational events possible. Since 1999, there have been over 1856 deadly force incidents take place throughout our faith-based communities. On Saturday, January 11th, 30 Living Hope Family Church congregants received the knowledge, skills and abilities to better survive an active killer event. Conducted by Integrated Community Solutions to Active Violence Events (ICSAVE) and the Arizona Church Security Network, I LIVED (Active Violence Response Course) is a set of proactive, options-based strategies, that increase community members’ chances of survival and bridge the gap between the time a violent event begins and law enforcement arrives. These participants learned and experienced the decisive advantages of proactive vs. passive response strategies via numerous live scenario drills and Bleeding Control interventions and are now empowered to help save lives! Montessori Preparatory Academy Ready to Save a Life!

Mohave County residents now have 17 more trained and certified immediate responders among our ranks! On Friday, January 10th, these dedicated Mohave Valley School District professionals met at Montessori Preparatory Academy and completed the necessary educational requirements to obtain American College of Surgeon’s Bleeding Control Certification. Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they can provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders can take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths may occur. Although no single set of skills or response can fit all injury, trauma, or active violence situations, making sure everyone knows his or her options and can react decisively will save valuable time and lives. As members of our extended community family, these exceptional men and women now have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to help save a life!

Bullhead City CERT Members Our Latest Community Superheroes!

Bullhead City now has several more community superheroes among our ranks! On Thursday, January 9th, these dedicated Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members completed the necessary educational requirements to obtain American College of Surgeon’s Bleeding Control Certification. Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they can provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders can take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths may occur. Although no single set of skills or response can fit all injury, trauma, or active violence situations, making sure everyone knows his or her options and can react decisively will save valuable time and lives. As members of our extended community family, these exceptional men and women now have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to help save a life! We want to extend a special thank you to the brave men and women of the Bullhead City Fire and Police Departments who are making these lifesaving presentations, skills, trainings, and drills possible.

Needles Unified School District Our Newest Community Lifesavers!
