Southern Arizona residents now have 45 more trained and certified immediate responders among their ranks! Saturday, March 31st was designated National Stop the Bleed Day, and community members came together at the Pima County Abrams Public Health Center, were trained by the Southern Arizona Stop the Bleed Coalition and completed the necessary educational requirements to obtain American College of Surgeon’s Bleeding Control Certification. Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they can provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders can take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths may occur. Although no single set of skills or response can fit all injury, trauma, or active violence situations, making sure everyone knows his or her options and can react decisively will save valuable time and lives. As members of our extended community family, these exceptional women and men now have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to help save a life!

On Thursday, March 29th, 2018, ICSAVE was honored to be a part of Representative Dr. Randall Friese’s Stop the Bleed Proclamation, made on the House Floor of the State Capitol at 10:00AM. One of the founding members of the Southern Arizona Stop the Bleed Coalition, ICSAVE is working tirelessly to provide everyone in our communities with lifesaving Bleeding Control training. The value of this essential mission was highlighted by Dr. Friese, when he proclaimed that March 31st will officially be recognized as Stop the Bleed Day. There are numerous, FREE Bleeding Control courses being offered throughout Arizona. Join us and you too can become an Immediate Responder!

Future Construction Professionals Our Newest Community Heroes!

Pima County residents now have 10 more trained and certified immediate responders among their ranks! On Wednesday, March 28th, these exceptional young men and women from the county’s Joint Technical Education District’s (JTED) Construction Technologies Program completed the necessary educational requirements to obtain American College of Surgeon’s Bleeding Control Certification. Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they can provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders can take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene.
